What’s the best day to launch on Product Hunt?
One of the most common questions I get from founders is:
Which day should we launch?
Keeping up with AI - the only way to survive?
Im going to be honest here - I had a little breakdown a while ago after I happily and very excitedly watched a friend explain his job to me. He is a AI only designer for a large agency.
After the call I couldnt believe what I had seen... it was so far beyond my experiences with Midjourney and Chatgpt, then after about 24/48 hours my brain started going nuts and the reality set in with a basic message: your job has NO future.
So the choices were (once my 48 hour freakout was done):
1. get with it (and learn and see where it takes you)
2. be the person that builds it
3. fall over and die (accepting my fate)
4. look for a job AI cant replace
So I made my choice, I would do a combination of 1,2 and 4 and thus this morning at 6am, my alarm went off, made a coffee and started spending an hour learning Javascript and soon JSON to facilitate parts of 1 and 2.
I self hosted N8N and Deepseek as well ready for learning and researched a few options for #4.

So wish me luck, ive tried coding before and never had any interest but hopefully this time it will be different as I have moved to a more process driven methodology in my life over the past decade.
(bit of a plug, but follow me on twitter or bluesky for more titbits of useless information)

BuiltByFew - finally seeing the finish line for launch!
Me and my co-founder dont know each other (or rather didnt) - I asked on slack... he answered and that started BuiltByFew.
It's strange how ideas come to a person at the weirdest times and mine was just as I found out my contract will be abruptly ending with a client and the idea of searching for jobs filled me with dread. Luckily I knew where to go online to find a job at a startup in the UK only to be smacked in the face with a beloved website bought by an American group who ruined it all.
So here we are... 3 months+- down the line;
myself with a half time freelance gig, helping my partner set up her business and trying to launch my own things, and,
my fellow co-founder with a full time contract job, 3 of his own products and South Africa's famous load shedding!
I am happy to say we are in the final phases of testing and with a waiting list growing and 2 startups already giving a verbal agreement to join the platform, I am confident we will launch something startups and startup lovers will, well... love!
If anyone has a startup (UK or South Africa based as those are our first regions) drop me a line and Ill give you a premium founder account for FREE on builtbyfew.com once its live, Ill even set it up for you.
If you are looking for jobs in those regions, please join the waiting list, and share us far and wide!

What’s the psychological price ceiling you’d pay for software?
There s an interesting trend unfolding.
Most major AI tools (ChatGPT, Claude etc.) started with friendly $20/month plans. It felt accessible, almost casual.

What is one business advice you'd give your younger self?
Building and launching products, testing them in real markets and building a business are like mini-MBAs. It teaches you a lot of things about human behavior, finance, marketing, sales, entrepreneurship, management and more.
We become wiser; and wish someone had given us the right advice at the right time.
Thank you!
Thanks everyone for your amazing support during launch week! We re already working on a few improvements based on your feedback stay tuned :)
So begins my #buildinginpublic challenge
I love startups, geniunely I do; the challenges, the stress, the problem solving are all fun for want of a better word.
So after I lost my job earlier this year (1500+ applications and only 7-8 interviews still) as a C-level marketing person I decided that this was finally the time to start building, launching and marketing my own ideas.
Because of all of this BuiltByFew (builtbyfew.com) was born and the reasoning is simple... my favourite job board for startups was bought by an American tech company and they made it super shit, so I thought 'why not make it again, but better!' and here we are. A closed BETA (with a waitlist) for the platform and two startups already commited to using it.
Lets see how this journey goes, along with the trials and tribulations which are sure to come and and the technical challenges the world will present us. Watch this space!
