You start with a brilliant idea, and by 80% done you're not so sure anymore

does this happen to anyone else?

you get an idea and it feels genius. you can't stop thinking about it, you start building right away. the first weeks are pure energy.

then somewhere along the way the doubts creep in. is this actually useful? would anyone pay for it? didn't someone
already do this better?

and the weird part is it gets worse the closer you get to finishing. right when there's not much left to do, I start seriously thinking about dropping it and moving on to the next shiny idea.

The hardest part of indie hacking is not coading, it's knowing when to kill a feature.

curious how others handle this.

when you are building solo or in a tiny team, every feature feels like your baby. you spend days tweaking an edge case or adding a cool little toggle beacuse you think it's neat.

then you launch, and crickets. nobody touches it.

lately, i have been trying to force myself to look at user data and ask- am i building this because it actually solves a problem or just because i enjoyed coding it?
