I've been an early adopter and watching this app grow over the years has been amazing! Discord is a fantastic piece of software! I've been able to replace most of my social media use with it. It's like a hybrid of everything you would want: forums, streaming, messaging, and voice chats (similar to slack huddles, or old school VoiP stuff like teamspeak or ventrillo, but much better). The engineering department is fantastic, and they have been ramping their development in recent years, and refactoring services for performance (read the somewhat recent go -> rust refactors over the past few years). I highly recommend!

This is one of my favorite open source projects! Also, if you're looking to get better at markdown, this is the app to do it. The free sync is fantastic - because it integrates with dropbox, and because most of what you're syncing is just text, you can use this for quite a while before reaching the dropbox free-tier limit. I can keep a journal at work and have it sync to my phone, personal workstation, and other devices. It's really quick and most importantly - a decent community and still actively developed!

Great for collaborating across teams, and especially great with access controls so I don't accidentally interfere with the wrong designs. The jamboard's are great for making quick wireframes. There are a lot of plugins, and uploading/downloading content is very snappy.

Fantastic developer experience and environment. Lots of great plugins, and intuitive auto-complete saves me a lot of time. It's also great for working on simple things like markdown for documentation.
