This one goes out to all our makers! We ve been hard at work finding ways to make Product Hunt a better place for makers to launch and continue sharing their product journey. To do that we created some resources to help make the most of your launch, and built an Add-ons tab in Product Hubs to help users discover all of the plugins, extensions, companions, templates, and more that complement your products.

• Launch Guide In an effort to help makers feel more prepared for launch day, we hosted our first-ever How to launch on Product Hunt webinar this month, and also published a Launch Guide to make it easier than ever to find everything (seriously, everything) you need to know about launching in one place.

• Case studies In addition to the step-by-step playbook for pre-launch through post-launch, we ve included a few stories from other makers who have had successful launches on Product Hunt. Check out stories from Framer, Notion, and Loom founders to learn more about their experiences.

Introducing our new mobile apps

Our Product Hunt mobile team has been working diligently behind the scenes to build a brand new app experience from the ground up, and we re thrilled to finally debut it. For those that missed it, we launched Product Hunt mobile apps for iOS and Android earlier this week. Download the app to browse Product Hunt from anywhere.

Collections

With the introduction of Product Hubs earlier this year, we had to reframe how we think about collections and shift from collecting launches to collecting products. The updates we made also make it easier to discover and search for collections based on keywords.

Along with these functional changes, we adjusted the page design, allowing for a brief overview and a preview of the products in the collections on the index page. The cleaner design will allow you to easily see if the collection is curated by our Product Hunt team or someone in the community.

Extended launch scheduling

For those of you that plan ahead, makers can now schedule their launches up to 30 days in advance! Scheduled posts can always be edited and rescheduled so don t hesitate to try out this updated scheduling feature.

Something we ve been obsessing over is how to make Product Hunt more valuable to both makers and non-makers. The new Coming Soon feed aims to do just that.

Makers - We know how much effort and preparation goes into a launch. An important part of that is teasing it just enough to build anticipation and hype for launch day.

This new feed allows you to highlight your scheduled launch as much as 30 days in advance. This gives you more time to gain momentum on the feed and with a slick Coming Soon banner on your Hub page. Learn more.

Activity feed

Remember that interesting discussion you were involved in last month that you re not able to find anymore? Now your profile displays a complete activity feed showing your latest comments, reviews, and discussions in chronological order. You can also view other people s activity feeds, so you can see what your favorite PH ers have been up to.

It s been more than a year since we first introduced streaks to help our community track their daily engagement with Product Hunt. In that time, it s quickly become one of our most talked about new features on Twitter and beyond.

We are introducing a streak leaderboard to make it easier to celebrate our most active community members with the longest streaks.

Chrome extension

This week we launched our new Chrome extension on Product Hunt and got some awesome feedback from the community about what people love and a few things that we can make even better.

If you missed it, here are some highlights. The extension gives you a way to quickly discover bite-sized trends, top launches of the day, and past launches by filtering by your favorite topics. Now there are discussions and maker stories you can browse as well!

The update includes a few ways to personalize your tab including: - Toggle between list view and grid view - Light mode and dark mode - Display your most visited sites - Connected to your Product Hunt account to show your current streak

LinkedIn integration

LinkedIn has been added as an additional login method for both web and the mobile apps.

One of the many ways we re combating inauthentic contributions is by helping legitimate users look more legitimate. By linking your accounts and adding your job title and company to your profile, this information will be displayed under reviews you leave, making them more credible and valuable to makers and the community.

Extended leaderboard randomization

Last month we shared a few ways we re combating spam and leveling the playing field for makers on Product Hunt.

As part of that effort, randomizing the leaderboard for the first two hours of the day is something we ve been testing. This two-hour period gives all products a chance to climb the ranks before votes start to lock in the leaderboard.

It s been a month since we enabled the test and the results are exciting. The median number of votes per product in the first two hours has doubled. Yes, doubled. This has created a level playing field for all makers at the beginning of the day. We re planning to expand the randomization period to four hours (from 12AM - 4AM PST), starting 4/21, to see what further improvements we can make on the ranking system.
