Crates — your saved content knows you better than Google does

Hey PH I'm James, co-founder and CEO of Crates. What started as a way to keep my saved links, articles, and workout videos in one place grew into something I didn't expect. Instead of jumping from app to app or digging through a graveyard of old tabs, Crates keeps my space current and tailors my internet to who I am today, not who I was six months ago. I had the realization one night, restless and full of ideas, that my behaviors are patterns. They could and should build towards something. By morning, I'd derived two unique algorithmic formulas that now run our engine. This launch doesn't mean done and this isn't the end. This is only the beginning. Here, let me introduce you to Crates. What would a personalized internet mean to you? Make a Crate , let's find out together.

Crates - Here, let me.

Search red sneakers, Google shows you red sneakers. Crates shows you Jordan 4s, because it knows who you are. Not because "people like you liked." Crates is your personal internet; learning from what you save to how you browse. It grows with you. Surfacing the right thing at the right moment, remembering what you moved on from and anticipating what you'll dive into next. Getting sharper every session Say goodbye to bookmark managers and search engines. Finally, an internet that knows you.

How are you balancing tech debt vs. velocity with AI-assisted coding?

We're an AI-native startup shipping fast with augmented coding, but the debt it creates is different from anything I've seen before.

I remember in my old team we put aside around ~20% of engineering time to pay down debt that accumulated during feature releases.
