While building back-office panels for our clients at Devforth (a software development agency) we discovered a lot of repeating features and pages that we do. We decided that we can significantly reduce development time by moving repeating parts to into a Framework. And now we are sharing it with the world. We are going to keep it free and open source and continue using it for our clients.
