I'm Daniel. I made $404,473 selling an ebook and a video course on the internet. AMA π
2.5 years ago I decided to quit the rat race and I left my career in big tech to go work for myself, on my own terms. Initially, I was going to focus all my attention on building a SaaS, but I quickly realized I didn't want to put all my eggs in one basket. Fast forward to today, I make and sell educational info products, do some contracting (working quarter-time at Gumroad), run a SaaS business, and at the end of this month, I also plan to get into selling physical products.I made $550K+ in revenue since I started working for myself, with over $400K coming from info products. After listening to Airbnb CEO and Co-Founder Brian Chesky's story about the early struggles and outrageous demands from investors on the "This Week in Startups" podcast, it got me thinking... What was the most challenging experience I've had as a founder? For me, it was when an investor told me that no one would ever use AI assistants in their daily lives - this was just before ChatGPT came into existence, mind you! Unfortunately, our entire business was built around this idea. What about you? What's the worst investor meeting horror story you've experienced? Let's hear it!
