Do you watch screen recordings of users, or does it feel a bit like spying?

It s wild how big the gap is between what users say they hate and what actually makes them quit. In surveys they will complain about big things but in real life they quietly churn because a CSV import fails or an error message isn't clear. Watching live user sessions or screen recordings completely changed how I look at product friction because you get to see them sigh or hesitate in real time.

How early in your product lifecycle did you start tracking session behavior and did it surprise you?

Do long emails actually show thoroughness or are we just avoiding hard decisions?

I used to type out massive super detailed emails thinking I was being professional and covering all bases. Most of the time, the client would just skim the first two lines and completely miss the actual question I needed answered. It took me way too long to realize that writing a wall of text is usually just a way to hide behind information rather than getting straight to the point. Cutting my emails down to two or three sentences changed everything.

Do you find yourself over-explaining things just to feel like you've done enough work?
