What is BAD vs. GOOD AI judgement?

Would love to hear thoughts.
Here's my perspective.
I'm against AI slop, but I'm not against AI. I believe AI is a great tool but it also needs greats pilots to use it well. This is what I'm working on. AI Fluency.

Biggest marker of AI fluency is AI judgement. Where and when to use AI and where and when not to.

How much do you actually trust an AI-written job-match score?

Working on scoring candidates against job postings with AI, and I keep going back and forth on this: a bare percentage feels untrustworthy no matter how good the model is, but a full paragraph of reasoning is too slow to skim across 50 profiles.

Landed on a point-by-point checklist (what's met, what's missing) as a middle ground, but curious how others handle this. If a tool told you "73% match," would you trust it without seeing why? Where's the line between useful signal and noise for you?

How do you catch overlapping tools before they pile up?

Went through a few companies' software subscriptions recently and found the same pattern every time: multiple tools quietly doing the same job, nobody having noticed. How does your team currently catch that kind of overlap a regular review, a specific tool, or mostly just luck?
