Hello, makers! I'm trying to find a problem in content writing that others haven't identified as a problem worth working on. If you write any textual content like articles, blog posts, social posts, or tweets regularly, what's the most painful part about that for you?
New year, new team, new features! We are growing fast at Product Hunt (see: Prologue and our job openings), which means we re going to have a lot more cool stuff for you to play with this year as we expand Product Hunt into THE place to learn about new and established products. Here are some of the most recent features we ve released.
New topics We ve updated our topics hierarchy to better organize products. Makers will have the ability to choose from new topics when they submit a product (or if they edit an old product). We will make topic browsing and selection easier soon too when we release new display and picker components.
Modernizing the site We made big changes to the look and feel last year, but we still want to give a fresh coat of paint (and performance updates) to a few more pages. We ve released changes to the Founders Club and Terms and Conditions pages, and we will continue with updates to profiles, notifications, jobs, and this very changelog page.
You might also like We ve made it easier to discover related products in the context of what you re already browsing on the homepage. This update extends the lifespan of a product beyond its launch day. What began as a small experiment received a lot of positive feedback (and data), so we ve decided to release it to everyone.
Search improvements We are upgrading our search algorithm to make it easier to find your favorite products on Product Hunt. Need help finding the perfect tool for the job? We got you! Keep an eye out for even more search capabilities in the near future.
Golden Kitty Awards These don t just happen on their own. Aside from a monumental effort from our community team, the engineering team put in a ton of work to make this event happen. If you weren t able to check out the live event, you can watch it on YouTube or browse the list of all finalists and winners on the blog.
I know certain tools help you with your spelling or rephrase your sentences in a clearer format. My question here is: can they also boost idea generation and reliably give you ready-to-use copy?
Most entrepreneurs, especially bootstrappers are working from home, alone, struggling with trying to get paying users, and not really knowing what to do... There are just too many variables... Any tips to deal with it?
Someone told me a line, which I thought would be good for a discussion to have: Accept it - "If you can't trust your team to work from home; you don't trust them at all." Ps: I like to work from the office Please share your comments and views on the same.
Hey Pablo from SigmaOS. We are a new browser that had a great launch in August. Was just looking to understand what the Product Hunt crowd s most used browser is and why
I loved https://yourstack.com because it allowed me to list (stack) the tools I'm using (to make stuff). Basically answering the question "which tools are you using/recommending?". Yourstack was also great becuause you could browse the stacks of other makers to (re)discover tools and compare approaches as well as sharing tips and tricks around those tools. While yourstack is currently on (permanent) vacation (https://twitter.com/rrhoover/sta...) I was wondering if you only could take 5 tools to an island: which tools would you pick and why? Ideally name tools that you rely on regularly. Can be evergreen tools or something new. Bonus points if you made something using those tools. Feel free to share what you made for context : ) Will also share my top 5 tools after a few comments (wow, narrowing down is not easy)!
Hey, hunters! We all know how intense work can be, and everyone has their ups and downs. It would be very interesting to know what you do to get some rest and find the strength to continue? Share your thoughts in the comments!
I've invested a good amount for a setup at home, which was aimed to increase productivity. But the same morning routine of waking up - coffee- straight to the desk had made me a little less productive. I currently stay in Bangalore India, and have really good WeWork spaces here, since the past four weeks I've started going twice a week. Definitely helped move things faster. Any other ideas as to how anyone else might have increased their productivity w/ still staying at home? or not.
What's the best way to motivate employees?
- Higher base salary
- KPI-based bonus
- Stock options
- Flexibility & work from home
- Company mission & values Of course, most companies rely on a mix of these. But if you had to choose only one option?
Points system, badges, leaderboard, recognition. Big fan of how Stackoverflow implemented it without diluting the experience/quality. Any other ideas/examples?
With so many builders out there, which do you think does it best? I've been using webflow for the past week or so for my newsletter blog and it's been an awesome experience.
