Would you pay for a product you could easily rebuild yourself?

As developers, it s easy to fall into the I could just code this in a weekend mindset.

But I ve realized time, maintenance, and support often cost way more than the price of the tool.

Still, sometimes I just can t justify paying for something I know I could make.

Should We Trust AI to Take Over System Access? πŸ€”

Not talking sci-fi AGI or Skynet vibes.
I m talking about what s already happening today  AI tools managing access, auto-approving requests, resetting credentials, even triggering deployments.
Basically, AI now holds the keys to your digital kingdom .

For me?

  • AI-driven password managers + SSO  No more juggling 50 logins.

  • Auto-approval bots in ITSM  Cuts ticket waiting from hours to seconds.

  • Just-In-Time (JIT) AI access control  Permissions only when needed.

  • Self-healing security agents  Patch and fix without a human in the loop.

Sounds amazing, right? Productivity skyrockets.

πŸ’‘ Will Building with AI Eventually Require Fewer Developers?

So here s something I ve been thinking about lately: with the rise of AI coding assistants, boilerplate generation, and one-click scaffolding tools are we heading toward a future where fewer developers are actually needed to build great products?

I don t mean tomorrow but maybe 5, 10, 15 years out. If AI keeps improving (and honestly, it s already kind of insane), will we still need large engineering teams? Or will smaller teams even solo devs be able to ship like never before?

I m not saying devs are going extinct (I m a dev myself ), but I do wonder:

  • Will early-stage startups hire fewer engineers?

  • Will AI handle more of the grunt work while we focus on product logic and creative direction?

  • Could this shift what it even means to be a developer?

which industry do you think is the riskiest to start a business, and which is flourishing?

With AI, it seems to be everything possible:

Everybody is a builder, maker, marketer, founder, (vibe)coder/developer.

What’s the one thing that kept you going when your startup almost broke you?

We often discuss success here, including launches, traction, and growth hacks.

But let s talk about something else for a moment.

That one moment when it felt like it was over.

No funding. No traction. Silence from users. The team is falling apart.

Is SaaS becoming MAAS thanks to MCP? πŸ€” Let’s talk.

Yesterday I met an old friend after 2 years we had a ton to catch up on, and of course, I ended up excitedly rambling about AI and product tech .

He listened patiently, then hit me with a question I wasn t ready for:

Curious β€” what would make a voice note app worth paying for? 🎧

Hey everyone!

We ve been building Voxiyo a simple voice note app that records, transcribes, provides you actionable insights and helps you organize and make sense of your thoughts with AI (think summaries, inbuilt todos, and even chatting with your notes).

We re exploring what to build next and would love your input.

How do you handle pricing strategies and discounts?

When I was studying economics, we always said that we base the price on these basic things:

cost level

competition

prominence of the industry/product
