Our initial iteration was built from scratch using Bolt over a single weekend, and I did not have any previous experience coding at all. It worked, people signed up and even paid. Then I hired an external developer to implement a feature I could not build myself and his first question was about "the schema". I did not understand what it means.

It turned out that AI has created three tables that almost literally duplicated user information in three slightly different ways, and every single query worked around it instead of solving. Nothing broke for users but every subsequent development became more complicated and expensive than necessary.

I am in Pakistan. Stripe is not available there, hence it took more time to sort out my payment issues than the product itself. I went through an LLC registration process, waited for an EIN, set up a business bank account online, and wasted around eleven weeks to finally be able to bill anyone.

None of the guides have covered this topic. Every post about shipping your product in a weekend presupposes that you can easily integrate a payment processor and start charging people.

If you had to build from a country different from the payment rails, what did you use in the end? I would love to compile a small comparison list of those things that really work in 2026, rather than what is stated in the docs, and publish it here.
