What's great
Turned 'I want to write about Jevons Paradox and AI jobs' into a researched, cited, 700-word article with multiple drafts, revisions, and social posts, all in one conversation.
The research integration is killer. Fed it a blog post halfway through and it immediately understood how to incorporate that angle. This is what AI writing tools should be: actually collaborative, not just prompt-and-pray.
What needs improvement
Citations were functional but basic, just links at the end. Would love options for different citation styles (inline hyperlinks, footnotes, academic format, etc.) depending on where I'm publishing.
vs Alternatives
I choose spiral over other AI based writing tools because it forces you to think and it is not just generation of AI slop.
Can you fine-tune tone and style after draft generation?
Absolutely.
Is workspace management helpful for teams and permissions?
I haven't used workspace so far but I think it's a very useful feature to have for teams that are collaborating and working.
How easy is it to import files and reference sources?
It's very easy to import files and you can even copy and paste large amounts of text in the chat itself.
