POLL: Do the gadgets that exist today live up to your expectations from childhood?

This poll is in honor of "Back To The Future Day". Think back to your early childhood visions of technology. Do the gadgets that exist today live up to your expectations? Tell us why. I personally watched a lot of The Jetsons so I'm still waiting for my flying car and robot housekeeper. (I do have a Roomba but it sadly cannot pick the laundry off my bedroom floor)

POLL: Do you pay for ad-free YouTube?

I've noticed recently that YouTube are offering me very tempting free trials to upgrade to their ad-free version which also includes original premium content. While I was excited by the idea of ad-free YouTube when they announced the news a few years back, as a frugal person I never made the investment. Do you pay for ad-free YouTube, and if so, do you feel it's worth it?

How are you measuring your growth? 🚀

What are some KPI's you've used when launching to measure success, outside of monetary value or user numbers?

Finding (and keeping) early adopters? 🚀

Wanted to start a thread to hear about how some other startup founders have approached finding the right early adopters and have kept them interested/engaged as the product grows, fails, and goes through changes. How did you find the early adopters? What was your strategy for keeping them engaged? How often did you reach out to them for feedback?

Do you work on the weekends?

I've always gotten a mixed review around working on weekends. Some prefer it to be a no work zone so they can start the work day week fresh but others like to mix it up. What do you do?

What changes will you bring with you when we eventually get back to normal?

Things have undoubtedly changed dramatically and it may be a case of some things coming with us when we go back to normal. For me it will be wearing a mask in winter, I hate the flu and I get it every single winter bar the previous one so if I can prevent it, I'm going to.

What's the biggest mistake you've made as a founder?

This sounds silly but when I launched my first startup 5 years ago, we didn't put in a vesting schedule Wanted to see what others have done but also things we know to avoid in the future!

How did you grow/find your first group of users to a MVP product you just launched?

I'm a junior product marketer looking for advice. My team and I just launched a service called RoundUp, which is a free Chrome extension made for HR professionals. It's like a memopad that pops open inside Google Meet, where they can fill out candidate reviews once the interview is over - and it automatically links to a Dashboard, where HR folks can see everything in one place. It's got very basic features (so a MVP) and of course there are many things we need to get to. I'm new to doing product marketing and would love some advice from those who's gone through this phase of trying to grow the userbase from a grassroots perspective. What was the best way to get users on your site/product/service at the beginning? Were people willing to give you feedback and advice? (How did you find them?) Would love to hear your stories/kind advice!

What's your method to iterate over your business model?

Hey PH! We're offering a freemium service in B2B (https://axolo.co, we help tech teams working on Github and Slack reduce code review time). Most of our features are included in our free plan and we started last week our premium plan for companies looking for more customization. Right now, my main question for our upcoming features is to decide whether each feature should be in the free or the premium plan. Do you have any advice?

What advice would you give to your youngest self?

Makers, we all make mistakes when we work on projects. If there were a time you can go back, what would you change and what advice you give yourself?
