One of the biggest mistakes most products make when launching on Product Hunt

One of the biggest mistakes I notice with products launching on Product Hunt is skipping the teaser page. Promoting your teaser page is one of the most important steps because it serves two main purposes. First, it informs your friends, network, and audience on social media about your upcoming launch, giving them a heads-up that you ll be launching on Product Hunt. Second, it helps you build an audience directly on the Product Hunt platform. This audience will receive a notification on launch day, encouraging them to support you a big advantage. For example, if you have 500 people who clicked on your teaser page, they ll receive a notification on launch day, which could result in at least 200-300 guaranteed upvotes on the day of the launch. That s why we re launching in less than two weeks, and we re actively promoting our teaser page right now. https://www.producthunt.com/prod... I highly advise anyone planning a launch to prioritize creating and promoting their teaser page.

How many weeks before launch is it best to start looking for a hunter?

Now I'm just starting to prepare for the launch and are trying to create a launch roadmap. And a question arose about finding a hunter, namely, should we prepare all the materials, arrange them in the form of a presentation (for example) and then look for a hunter, or is it wiser to look for a hunter after the launch has already been planned? I apologize in advance for a possibly stupid question, but I am very worried about the launch and want to be confident in my launch roadmap

How to build a community? πŸ§‘β€πŸ€β€πŸ§‘πŸ’ͺ

Everyone says building a community around your product is important. They help you spread the word, support you in your launches on PH and similar platforms, and give you feedback on new features you add to your product . Which are all the great things you would want for your product to happen, right?  But how do you actually get started? Tell us in the thread below UPDATED Thanks to everyone for their contributions to this thread . Summarising the discussion. Checklist for Community Building To Start: Identify your target audience Before you start building your community, it's important to understand who you want to target. This will help you tailor your content and messaging to the right people and ensure that you're reaching the right audience. You can look at how I m positioning the value to the community for my SaaS as a reference https://t.me/+UQ7bDtzlyaphNGRl Choose the right platform There are a number of platforms you can use to build your community, including chat platforms, forums, social media groups, and online discussion boards. Choose a platform that aligns with your target audience and offers the features and functionality you need to support your community. To Grow: Create engaging content Once you have your platform in place, focus on creating content that will engage your audience and encourage them to participate in discussions. This could include blog posts, videos, podcasts, or other types of content that provide value to your community members. Foster participation and engagement Encourage participation in your community by asking questions, starting discussions, and responding to comments and feedback from your members. You can also use incentives and rewards to encourage engagement, such as offering exclusive access to new features or discounts on your product. Promote on Public platforms There are various communities out there that might be interested in what you have to say or what you are building. Find what works for you. For SaaS products generally, some of the worthy platforms are:  Product Hunt, Hacker News, Indie Hacker, Reddit, Beta list, Beta page, Clrt Alt, Owwly, Micro startups, Startup base, Beta bound, Slant, SaaSHub, SaaSWorthy, StartupStash, AppSumo Creating a Freemium version The audience that you want to reach probably doesn t want anything to do with you. They are not your customers today. You need to convert them into your fans. One of the time-tested models to do that is Freemium. Many of the legendary SaaS companies that we know today leverage this tool to give people a taste of their product and then those people became their ambassadors to grow. Lastly, don t forget to:  Monitor and manage your community  Regularly monitor your community to ensure that discussions are staying on topic and that members are treating each other with respect. If necessary, take action to remove disruptive members or delete inappropriate content.  I hope this thread helped you learn something new.

Got My First 100 Users in 25 Days πŸš€

114 users | #2 Product of the Day on Product Hunt I m excited to share that I got 114 users for ViralSort in just 25 days! It all started in early December when I noticed how time-consuming it was for creators to discover trending content. That s when I built ViralSort, a Chrome extension that lets you sort Instagram Reels by likes, comments, and views. After publishing it on the Chrome Web Store on Dec 7, the journey began. Here s how we reached 114 users by Jan 1: 1 Small but Mighty Network. I reached out to friends, mentors, and people I know. Their support played a key role in getting those first 9 users. 2 Organic Growth. I published ViralSort on the Chrome Web Store on Dec 7, and its simplicity and usefulness brought in 30 users organically without any promotion. 3 Product Hunt Launch. On Dec 30, I launched ViralSort on Product Hunt, and it gained 84 users in just 3 days, earning the #2 Product of the Day. Product Hunt provided the visibility to scale quickly. Here's the launch page - https://www.producthunt.com/post... It started as a simple idea to help find trending Reels, and now it's helping creators plan better content. This is just the beginning!

Why are there so many people trying to sell me into "Organic Upvotes"?

I have launched three products here on product hunt and each time I launch a product, the number of people reaching out to me selling me upvotes grows. I don't understand existence of such services. Is there no filter of sorts to prevent people from buying their way here? Also I have always seen this as platform to showcase the cool stuff you are building, nowadays its turning more into a rat race for a badge. Let a man get his honest upvotes, Thanks.
