Have you ever pivoted your business / idea? 💡

Tons of great products that we know and use everyday are the result of pivots. You know, sometimes the original idea just isn't working and you have to find a new niche and quick, other times you stumble on a use case that changes the whole game.

Have you ever pivoted? What's the story behind it? How successful was the pivot? I'd love to hear your stories, and potentially feature them in our newsletters!

What possible threats do you see in using AI?

I read about a few cases that sounded like something out of a horror story.

For example:

  • An AI chatbot pushed a teen to k*ll himself

  • AI Model Refuses To Listen to Humans After Being Told to Shut Down

  • Psychiatrist Poses as Teen  Finds AI Therapy Bots Encouraging Violence, Suicide, and Fake Intimacy

How do you make the atmosphere in your company more pleasant for your team?

I believe this topic is relevant to you as well, since there are many company founders here at various stages of starting up or running their businesses.

Visual Capitalist shared the results of Glassdoor reviews, revealing which companies are most admired by their employees. (See the infographic below.)

Marketers, founders – what were the best practices when you wanted to scale a B2B product?

I work with B2C products most of the time. I have experience with B2B in sponsorship.

But I can t compare it most comprehensively.

That s why I think some of you have more relevant experience and can compare your work in B2C and B2B.

What are the best apps/tools for learning languages? + Your experiences and struggles

The last 2 or 3 years, I have been trying to learn more foreign languages besides English.
My go-to app is (not surprisingly) Duolingo.

I have also experience with Memrise, but it didn't feel like a good fit.

I find these apps to help learn vocabulary or for keeping up with a language I've previously learned in other ways (for example, from a language school or online lessons), but not necessarily for learning at a conversational level.

What hobbies or skills do the founders in the Product Hunt community have?

Whenever I click through to the social media profiles of the makers in the product hunt community, I find that they are quite versatile and are involved in things other than just business.

What other skills do you have besides your work skills?

Which companies do you think will completely use AI instead of human beings?

More big tech companies bet on AI instead of employees.

  • @Duolingo is starting to prioritise AI over employees and contractors.

  • @Shopify is planning on going "AI first."

  • @Fiverr CEO Micha Kaufman just sent his employees the most brutally honest email: "AI is coming for your jobs. Heck, it's coming for my job too."

  • Firecrawl hires AI agents and has a Slack channel solely for AI agents.

Should big tech giants be politically neutral? How would you proceed if you were in such a position?

Caution: We re treading on thin ice.

I understand why big companies lobby for better conditions in their field. I see it more as a form of collective interest.

How do you educate yourself and upskill your professional knowledge? + Opportunity [AI School]

There's one good saying that
"Anyone who stops learning is old, whether at twenty or eighty. Anyone who keeps learning stays young."

This is so authentic, especially in the tech world, when everything changes so fast.

Do you trust autonomous (robo) vehicles? And who should be responsible for any related accidents?

We often cover software topics on ProductHunt, but sometimes we overlook the fact that tech can be felt most in the physical world (hardware).

As of mid-2024, there have been approximately 3,979 reported incidents involving autonomous vehicles (AVs) in the United States since reporting began in 2019. Source

Skype closed down - here are top 6 Skype alternatives for international calls

For the past 10 years, whenever I needed to call an international number, I used Skype. It had my back when I had to clear things up with the US university admissions from Austria, arrange a hotel pickup in Bali, or call my EU bank to see why my card was blocked while I was trekking through Argentina. I could call anywhere in the world for cents, and it was delightful.

In February 2025, Microsoft announced it was closing Skype down, and on May 5 it officially stopped operations. I was really sad when I heard the news with Skype, a huge chunk of my life disappeared. It felt the same way as if, one day, nobody would be playing on Call of Duty 2 servers anymore (that hasn t happened yet, right?).

Anyway, here I ve compiled a list of the top 6 alternatives to Skype for international calling. I used the following criteria to select them:

How do you protect your identity and your data on the internet?

Each of us leaves a digital footprint on the internet. The only difference is how much data and information we share publicly about ourselves.

For example, my local friend doesn't use his photo or name on his profiles so that no one will associate him too much with his income or political ideology.

My non-AI app made $8000 USD in 2 months. Here’s how I did it

I ve been building AI wrappers for the past 3 years as an indie hacker. None of them became profitable. Building failed products taught me how to code, design and market properly. And one day all those skills paid out

The idea

2 months ago Skype announced it was closing down. Most people used Skype for video calls, but there was a niche of people who used Skype to make cheap international calls to mobile and landline numbers. That was a golden opportunity major playing leaving the market, and its users scrambling for an alternative.
