About

Hi everyone! I'm Celine, a USC freshman studying ECE at Viterbi, building Finnley, a gamified financial education app that's part Duolingo, part Tamagotchi for your money. Taking a finance class opened my eyes to the growing financial literacy crisis and how deeply it's tied to income inequality. Information exists, but access to engaging, digestible financial education doesn't. Finnley is my answer to that. I pitched this idea at USC Techstars Startup Weekend, assembled a powerful team of women to build an MVP, and got great validation from the judges — we ended up placing 3rd out of 63 pitches. With that momentum, I'm treating it like the real thing. Always down to connect with anyone passionate about democratizing financial literacy for all! 🌱

Hi from a first-time founder building in the financial literacy space

Growing up, money was always this scary thing nobody talked about. My family made mistakes not because they were irresponsible, but because nobody ever taught them. And I kept thinking, why is this still the case?

I'm Celine, a freshman at USC studying electrical engineering, and I'm building Finnley, a gamified financial literacy app where you grow a virtual pet's world by learning real money skills. It sounds cute (it is), but the emotional hook is the whole point. People don't come back because of streaks. They come back because they built something they care about.

I'm a first-time founder, and I built this at a startup competition a few months ago and haven't stopped since.

Anyone else here building something that started from a really personal place? I would love to hear your stories.

My goal: Passive income app so I can just stare at sourdough all day

What's up Product Hunt! I'm Bartholomew. I'm a baker who happens to be building an app on the side. I loathe staring at screens, so I'm trying to figure out the ultimate lazy stack where AI agents handle the messy background work for me. If I can get this thing making money passively, I am immediately checking out and spending the rest of my days covered in flour. Great to meet you all!
