Why do so many people still store sensitive info in plain text apps?

I’ve noticed something interesting while building VaultNote. Even smart, security-aware people still store sensitive info in: – Apple Notes – Google Keep – Notion – WhatsApp chats – random text files – screenshots – “saved messages” – email drafts – sticky notes (physical or digital) Not because they don’t care about privacy… but because secure tools feel heavy compared to the apps they use...

VaultNote is a zero-knowledge, local-first encrypted notes app. Everything runs in your browser with AES-256 WebCrypto no servers, accounts, or tracking. Your thoughts never leave your device. Export encrypted .vault files, decrypt with your key, and write freely. 100% open-source and private by design
