How will AI videos change the movie industry?

A few days ago, I read an article stating that influencers receive more attention on the red carpet compared to traditional actors.

Then, I came across a video demonstrating how Hollywood movies with enormous budgets can be replicated with minimal costs.

What does this mean for the movie industry?
Will we see more emerging talents creating outstanding films simply because they are skilled in using AI?
As influencers seem to be replacing actors, could ordinary people with AI skills start to replace Hollywood studios?
I began to speculate on the possibilities:

Name a Profession That's Not Ready For AI 🤖⛔

I've been wondering if there are any professions today that are just not ready for AI? One I can think of are skilled trades like plumbing and electrical work.

They often face unpredictable challenges that demand real-time decision making and provide reassurance to clients something AI can't do.. yet.

What about you? What other professions do you think are safe from the rise of AI?

Learnings from launching on PH without stressing about it!

48 hours ago I launched on Product Hunt.

Here is what happened:

  1. I launched with zero stress.

  2. I didn't send a single DM for getting upvotes.

  3. I found a random Hunter with no followers.

  4. I wanted the whole process to be fully organic, to see how PH works.

  5. I got 85 signups to my app from the whole launch.

  6. I did not get featured on the main page.

What new features would you like to see in ProductHunt in 2025?

For me:

  1. TikTok-like launch party / AMA livestream

  2. "Where Are They Now?" Tracker of products 3-6-12 months post-launch

  3. Feed of launch stories sharing successes, failures and tips like a substack community/feed

  4. Pre-launch AI scoring + domain-specific expert advisory

  5. Generative launch creatives for social media distribution

  6. "This vs. That" Showdowns head-to-head product debate & polls

  7. Dedicated boards for more content diversity: hardware, non-AI tools, pre-orders, alpha user invitations etc.

  8. Launch-in-public real-time analytics (visitor heatmaps, referrals, engagement - inspired by hunted.space)

  9. Different display views of daily product launches (inspired by PHDeck)

  10. More fun gamification in points system (interactive badges, referral, waitlist pre-launch)

  11. Better search filters (category, reviews, personalized recommendations)

  12. Founder matching hub for advisory and mentorship

@rajiv_ayyangar Curious to learn more about ProductHunt's future roadmap! :)

What pisses you off in life? Be real.

Hi PHerz! This is not a problem discovery post lol. Just a normal chat to see what others face in their daily lives, cause building stuff and in general trying to do things in life is a roller coaster. For me, a lot of stuff piss me off hah! However, one thing that does a lot, is the fact that I see the majority outsourcing their lives to the "system". I see people still admiring folks like Elon Musk, people working jobs they dont like and being ok that they will work for 40 years, without realizing they only live once. Buying the newest cars, the newest iphones, posting fake things on social media. Without even thinking the consequences of all this. Feels like people gave up on thinking for themselves. Anyways, hectic day, so I felt like sharing a more "deep" topic. What about you? What pisses you off in this world?

Does the new forum design affect your post engagement?

I m still getting used to the new forum design. But I ve been wondering, does the new layout or features impact how much engagement your posts get? Do you feel it s helping your posts stand out more, or has it made things quieter?

Have you ever wanted to start a podcast to stay in touch with friends?

I thought I wanted to start a podcast with my friends, turns out I just wanted to use the format to stay in touch.
I travel quite a bit so I have friends in many timezones. Some of us attempted to start a podcast by each recording an audio clips and stitching them together into an episode. We quickly realized we didn't want the discussions to be fully public, however, the format of communicating through these audio podcast-like messages was a game changer.
This is what lead to the development of Roads Audio.
So have you ever wanted to start a podcast? What was that experience like?

Why Am I Not Loving Claude?

I am not a developer. I am a sales/business guy who gets an obscene amount of value out of ChatGPT. It remembers who I am, seems to give me better answers than Claude, and I have the impression that it s a leading model, whereas Claude is top 10 maybe top five, but not top three. With that said, all I hear online is that Claude is better on all fronts. It s better for coding, more ethical, and will last longer than ChatGPT. I even hear it has better models. If that s the case, why do I feel like it pales in comparison to my ChatGPT experience? Why does my own experience not align with the broader appeal I see for Claude every day? Is it because I don't code or am I just using it poorly?

The Hidden Power of Product Hunt Engagement – What Most People Miss

Product Hunt isn t just about launching and upvotes it s about real engagement and building relationships. From my experience, the best way to grow on PH isn t just hunting great products but: Giving meaningful feedback that helps makers improve Supporting launches with strategic comments (not generic praise) Networking with builders who later become collaborators, partners, or even investors Most people focus only on upvotes and ignore the long-term impact of building credibility here. What s one unexpected benefit you ve gained from engaging on Product Hunt?

The number one thing you are most excited about in 2025?

For me these are the two most exciting things: 1. Will cash out big time from the crypto markets. 2. My goal to generate revenue with a product that I built and helps people. What's yours?

Attending meetups and conferences – does it help with sales?

I ve attended a few conferences and meetups over the past two years always for a different purpose. Sometimes it was just 1. to socialise , other times 2. to interview guests, 3. find PR or 4. sell products. I have to say that the last item on this list was the least fulfilling we recruited a few trial users, but there were minimal paying customers. How do you approach similar events? What positive results have you seen from it? [If you have any recommendations for meetups or conferences where people are more open to buying a product, I d be grateful if you could share them.]

What's the most fun product you've discovered on Product Hunt?

A while back, I found an app that lets you create mini-games out of your daily goals. It was so fun, it didn't feel like work. Have you come across a product that brought some fun or creativity into your life?

Hi everyone! I'm planning to have my first launch in a couple of weeks, and I'd appreciate your feedback. Here's a link to my product page: https://www.producthunt.com/post... What can I do to make this page better? I'm especially interested in what I can do to gain followers and get more upvotes on the day of launch!

AMA w/ Maker of the Year, Pascal Pixel! (ノ°∀°)ノ⌒💫

you probably know me from horse browser, but i ve been tinkering with design and html since the game boy color first came out!
before i even learned to code, i was making wallpapers & windows xp themes trying to win "daily deviation" awards on deviantart. when i *did* learn to code i built a pok mon battle with jquery right after coding my first working rock-paper-scissors game just so i could do battles on my kindle. later, i designed poolside fm s (now poolsuite) iconic icons, launched johto mono (formerly pok mon-font ) on product hunt, and kept making weird & fun experiments with design + ux at their core
thanks to the power of ai, i went from building websites to building a browser. horse is built with electron, and we re currently pushing hard to get extension support merged with the hope that once that happens, we ll see a wave of other niche browsers that help so many people
i say "help", because i could never get anything done with normal browsers, until i made horse, and to my surprise, i found that it's because i have adhd, and horse also helps other people with adhd letting them switch topics, come back to things later, and actually follow up. i m currently working on getting recommendations from therapists who are seeing how much horse helps their clients
ask me anything why i made horse, what being a super cool guy feels like, or whatever else you re curious about!
i ll be around all day answering questions ( ` )
