CleanShot

What's great

easy to use (13)fast performance (7)video recording (9)one-time purchase (4)scrolling capture (4)built-in annotation (13)GIF export (3)screenshot editing (8)custom domain feature (2)

This app is worth every penny just for how much time it saves on styling. It’s important to me that screenshots look polished: CleanShot automatically adds a nice background (padding) and shadow, hides desktop icons, and standardizes the window size. What I used to do manually in Figma now happens automatically. The result is ready to be sent to Slack or pasted into a presentation immediately - it always looks professional.

What needs improvement

forced cloud usage (2)

vs Alternatives

Because of the attention to detail and aesthetics. It’s the only app that understands that a screenshot is a form of visual communication. The ability to automatically round corners, add padding, and drop shadows saves me hours of work in Figma. Plus, it works incredibly fast and feels like a native part of macOS, not third-party software.

Is there any inflexible workflow that slows you down?

The only issue is the overlay popup after taking a screenshot. Usually it's useful, but if you need to take a rapid series of shots one after another, it might cover the screen area you need. However this is solvable by setting up specific hotkeys for "save instantly" to a folder, bypassing the editing menu

Sizzy

What's great

I used to constantly have to resize my browser window or switch emulators one by one, but here I see the site on all the necessary screens at once. Synced scrolling and clicks work perfectly: click a button on one device, and the action happens everywhere. For those keeping an eye on layout quality across different breakpoints, this tool is indispensable.

What needs improvement

When running a large number of virtual devices simultaneously, the app starts consuming a lot of RAM, which is noticeable even on a powerful laptop. Performance optimization for heavy sessions would be a welcome addition.

How smooth is the workflow switching between code editor and Sizzy?

The switching is very smooth

How steep is the learning curve for first-time users?

Essentially, the interface is familiar to anyone who has used Chrome DevTools, but everything here is packaged much more conveniently

Does Sizzy replace your main browser or complement it?

It is a companion tool, not a replacement for my main browser

I like the new version - the response speed, from what I've seen, is higher than in version 3.5. It's a pity, though, that there's a limit on requests in the free version

The creation instructions look as simple and straightforward as possible. I managed to create my first bot based on ChatGPT 4 in just a few minutes, and it works quickly!
