Updating blog posts brings traffic faster than writing brand new ones.

My content team used to publish two articles each week. We spent a lot of time researching topics but search traffic barely moved.

Writing content takes weeks to rank and requires building fresh authority from scratch. Meanwhile dozens of posts sat on page two of search results and received zero clicks.

We stopped writing articles for a whole month to focus only on our existing library. We updated statistics added better images and expanded thin sections in past posts.

Search engines already trust URLs so giving them fresh content pushes them up the ranks much quicker. A post that moves from position eleven to position four brings hundreds of visitors overnight.

This is the bug that taught me not to trust AI with catching it by itself.

I found out that while solving the bug, I could introduce another one elsewhere. The original feature was fine, but an existing feature was somehow affected.

From now on, after each big change, I check if the original feature is OK, if the other related features are working as expected, and if the input data is being checked correctly.

It takes a little bit of time, but it is far better than finding it out from the user.

What do you do when building with AI to ensure that you won't create a new issue while fixing one?

Why updating your blog posts brings more traffic than writing new ones.

For two years I forced myself to publish a brand new article every single Tuesday. I was exhausted. My organic traffic was completely flat despite having over a hundred posts on the site.

I looked at our analytics. Noticed that almost all our search traffic came from just five old articles. The rest of the content was sitting on page four of Google entirely ignored because it was outdated and lacked depth. I realized publishing volume was hurting my quality.

I stopped writing content for an entire month and focused only on those underperforming posts. I combined articles into massive guides updated old statistics from 2022 and added fresh screenshots from our current software version.

That simple cleanup effort boosted our site traffic by sixty percent in just forty days. Google clearly prefers an updated highly relevant page over a brand new post with zero domain authority.
