As an on/off Upwork freelancer I was sometimes frustrated by the lack of local currency support. Pricing being in US Dollars makes sense but I often found myself wondering and then calculating how much I would be charging in my local currency and how much I would be paying in fees. With that in mind I decided to build the feature myself and this is the Freelance Pro browser extension! At the...

Freelance ProConvert Upwork pricing into your local currency
A browser extension which converts pricing on the Upwork freelancing site into your local currency. It seamlessly allows you to see what your hourly rate will be after fees, how much you'll pay in commission and calculate how much you could earn from a job.

Fantastic Stef, just tried mine out - my love of a nice sky made for a lot of pale blue! It was surprisingly quick but I don't have a huge amount of photos from this year - have you parallelized the process of analysing each photo to cope with people who might have thousands?

I first discovered GitPrime through ProductHunt shortly after it launched and used it as an early customer while working on my first startup. We were unusual in that we were a small team of two developers and while the product is designed for larger and more established teams, we found the reports really useful to analyse our work and see just how much time we were spending contributing new...

Great product @mulligan, had an idea of doing something similar myself floating around after my previous startup so happy to see someone built it! Compiling the data quickly into an easy to read format was a pain, but what I think is more important is that this could be a great tool to keep you honest and updating investors when things get a bit shit. I know from my own experiences when things...

Will definitely be using this for freelancing. This would be a perfect accompaniment to Stripe's Atlas program as well. Much more versatile than the SVB account they give you.

This is a superb idea. Haven't tried it (in UK) but it looks like a very simple and easy user experience, also a very novel application of the Twilio API. Is there a limit on the call length? I'd be also interested to hear if you're using a combination of machine transcription and human or just machine?

Only last week my girlfriend had to turn down a job as the company (a global fashion startup) had an incredibly restrictive and unfair contract. Amongst over things it tried to include clauses that covered software developers and copywriters but were irrelevant to one or the other, it also stipulated that anything the contractor wrote they were liable for, even if someone subsequently changed...

Listening to Dan Snow's History Hit Podcast this morning I heard Dr. Sarah Parcak, 2016's TED prize winner, talking about her most recent project which she started with TED funding. GlobalXplorer is asking the crowd to help archaeologists identify historical sites and places where looting could be happening using satellite imagery. To start with they are focusing on Peru but hope to expand this...

A London-based startup I just came across on Wired (http://www.wired.co.uk/article/europes-100-hottest-startups-2016). They're addressing the problem of food waste by allowing restaurant kitchens to monitor what they are throwing away and what's being wasted in a busy kitchen. Using the data the chefs and owners can make changes to the menu, their ordering or processes to save food from the bin...

Thanks for posting Bill! Hi everyone, one of the developers here. We just launched our iPhone app today. Foundbite allows you to capture and share the sounds of the world along with a photo to give them context. In the app you can also explore a map of the world and hear sounds other users have uploaded there! Here's some examples of photos and sounds users have uploaded (made into video files...
