Three free tools for travellers - no sign-up, no e-mail, no limit. 1. Do I need a visa? The tourist rule for your passport and destination: visa or not, the stay allowed, the passport validity, the official portal. 2. Visa-free countries: every destination your passport enters visa-free, with the days allowed. 3. Entry restrictions: which countries restrict your passport, full or partial, with the legal basis. Every answer is dated, and non-official sources are labelled.
Hi Hunters,
I build visa paperwork tools, and the same three questions kept arriving in my inbox: do I need a visa, where can I go without one, and is my passport blocked anywhere. Every answer online was either a marketing page, a login wall, or a table last touched in 2019.
So these three are free, open, and dated:
- Do I need a visa? - the current tourist rule for your passport and destination: visa or no visa, how long you may stay, the passport validity required, and the official portal to apply on.
- Visa-free countries - every destination your passport enters visa-free, with the days allowed.
- Entry restrictions - which countries restrict holders of your passport, full or partial, with the legal basis and the effective date.
Two decisions I would defend over any feature:
The data updates itself, and says when. A weekly job checks the upstream source and rebuilds only when it really changed; the requirements checker asks a daily provider. The date on the page is the date the data moved, not the date I remembered to write a slogan.
Non-official sources are labelled as non-official. Half the real restrictions in the world are partial - some visa classes barred, others open - and open datasets record those as an ordinary "visa required". So anything not taken from a government document is shown with a visible warning instead of being dressed up as confirmed. It makes the product look less certain. It is the honest thing to print next to somebody's travel plans.
No account, no e-mail, no search limit. Tell me where the data is wrong for your passport - that is the feedback I actually need.
