When I was a professional golfer, I learned to travel light—and smart. I'd stay with friends around the world to save on hotel costs (and enjoy better company). The idea for Zero Hotel hit me years later, when my brother—a CFO at a public company—chose to crash at my place instead of booking a hotel during a business trip. That's when I realized: being frugal runs in the family.
