Hi ProductHunt community! I’m Till from Zerofy, and with Co-Founder Criss, we’re excited to be launching our carbon and energy tracking app! We thought there was no better time than during Earth Week, when the global community is focused on sustainability and decarbonisation. 🌎 How we started & what the Zerofy app solves When talking to people we know about carbon emissions in their household, we realized there was no good tool to track and understand carbon emissions automatically, continuously, and holistically. Of course, there were already carbon calculators, but they simply give a one-time snapshot, require long surveys to get to a result, and lack personalized actions to reduce emissions. Our app solves this problem by first tracking emissions automatically, and then giving you personalized actions on how to reduce them, ranked by impact. We automate tracking by leveraging AI, IOT, and other APIs. For example, the app recognizes how you move to estimate transport modes and related emissions. Zerofy integrates with smart-meters and smart home devices to estimate home energy emissions. It connects to open banking to analyze your purchases and associated emissions. With that granular, continuous data feed we give users personalized actions to reduce emissions alongside calculated emissions potential. ⚡️Zerofy is for people who: - Want to take action on climate but aren’t sure how - Like the idea of working towards a zero-carbon household, and constantly optimising - Love to track stats automatically and measure their progress towards a goal - Are interested in learning about new products and services that help save energy and emissions 🔦Key features 🔹Automated carbon emissions tracking using AI Zerofy tracks carbon emissions across the four main categories: home & energy, mobility, food, and goods & services. Integrations with smart home, IOT, and other APIs make it fully automated — no manual entry required. 🔹Personalized actions for reducing emissions Zerofy provides personalized actions you can take to reduce emissions, gives guidance & calculates how much of a reduction you could see for each action. 🔹Real-time home energy insights Real-time visualization of your home’s energy use so you can analyze and optimize. Access current usage, carbon intensity, and price to allow for smart energy decisions. 🔹Low-carbon products & resources Access guides to zero-carbon living, as well as best-in-class products and services in our shop to help you get there. ✨What makes us special The app supports users to make a holistic shift towards low-carbon energy and products, and address every main emissions source (automatically), instead of just focusing on one area (like eating habits or transportation). We do this through AI and connectivity with various smart home devices and appliances. The focus on reducing emissions is really essential, making Zerofy different from existing offsetting apps. We are helping our users shift towards the future, with a household that is electrified and energy efficient. 🤓Who we are Zerofy has a passionate team in Estonia, Switzerland, Sweden, Brazil, the Ukraine, and Canada. Across design, engineering, business development, and marketing, we’re all committed to helping our users decarbonise. 💡We’re really looking forward to hearing your feedback on the app, answering questions and participating in discussion with you below. We'd also be interested in which energy and smart-home devices we should integrate next, or any other suggestions you may have. Thanks for reading, Till, Criss, & the Zerofy team

@tmdq This product has certainly piqued my interest. I'm excited to try it out soon. Wishing you a successful launch!
Sounds like a super useful product - how does it link up with things like your electricity usage (and the sources of powergen)?
TillQ
@maxwellcdavis There are several ways to get electricity consumption data in the app: - Connect with a cloud-connected smart meter (e.g. smart-me) if you have one - Connect with your utility account or nation-wide smart-meter hub where available - You can also connect smart home devices to track their individual consumption We are working on more integrations and would love to hear which ones would be of interest! For the calculation of co2 emissions and the real-time sources of power generation, we rely on 3rd party data feeds to calculate really granular emissions. In fact, the app can alert you at times when electricity is particularly green!
@tmdq Cool - I'm assuming the number of countries is limited?

I recently tried the Zerofy app and it was great! It provides customized and actionable solutions that promote a sustainable lifestyle. I would definitely recommend this app to anyone who wants to adopt a greener lifestyle, its clean design and intuitive layout make it a fun tool to use. However, I wish it was available in more countries so that more users could benefit from it. Keep up the good work, congrats on the launch! 👍

Great app, there is already a lot being covered! I love the life integration of my solar panels, showing the energy produced, too 😁
TillQ
@erik_fonseka Thanks Erik. Yes integration of community solar is a fun feature!
