Review Zen Browser?
A consensus emerges: Zen Browser is a polished, privacy‑minded, open‑source option that’s winning over former Arc and Firefox users. Reviewers praise its fast iteration, responsive team, and surprisingly stable beta. Power users highlight organization tools—Workspaces, vertical and pinned tabs, tab groups, containers, split view, and helpful previews—plus smooth performance and low CPU use on Mac. It’s viewed as a capable daily driver that borrows the best ideas from modern browsers while remaining lightweight. Minor beta quirks persist, but momentum and trust in security are strong.

Zen is my default browser since their launch in 2024. I have never felt any need to move out of it for any reasons. Clean UI, easy to use, great experience overall. And cool themes and customisations. Can easily recommend this browser.
What needs improvement
Sometimes, in MacOS, i have seen it crashing while playing videos in background. That's a rare issue though
open source (5)vertical tabs (2)firefox based (3)group tabs (2)
The UI and UX is really great, having the possibility to hide the tab bar and favorite bar, make you focus on the content. The tab management is especially well build, It is easy to use, easy to organize and it is hard to go back.
What needs improvement
There are some bugs linked to the use of multiple windows, it might be a little improvement on how the windows synchronise (or dissociate, but not a mix of both)
vs Alternatives
I choose it over Firefox and Chrome for it's UI and its customization ability.
A very customizable and organization-oriented browser, based on Firefox. With Workspaces, Vertical Tabs, Pinned Tabs for global and workspaces (essentials), Group Tabs, Sync Profiles (also workspaces), Split View, Zen Glance (preview pages),...
It's still in beta, but it's more stable than other browsers in release.
Zen browser has been my daily driver and replace Edge for 3 days. I found it provides these critical features for me:
- Split screen, it could even split more than 2 screens vertically and horizontally with a much better way than Edge
- Form autofill suggestion
- The gmeet doesn't crash Boom 3D for MacOS again
Zen Browser is a solid open-source alternative to the now-defunct Arc. The core team is incredibly responsive, working tirelessly to roll out updates and listen to user feedback. Huge thanks to them!
An excellent replacement for Arc. Continues to advance and their approach to security gives me confidence in the product. It also seems to very kind to my Mac's CPU. Kinder than some other browsers.
Love the idea of an open-source community based browser built with privacy in mind and borrowing from all the latest innovation in browsers such as Sideberry/ARC tab/space sidebars.
