We’re launching an encrypted AI security & privacy assistant designed to help people use AI more safely without compromising their privacy. It combines AI-powered assistance with strong encryption and privacy-first security, giving users a more secure way to manage sensitive information and everyday digital tasks.
The idea for ZATH started with a pretty simple frustration: I wanted the usefulness of AI without having to constantly wonder where my data was going, what was being stored, or who might eventually have access to it.
The more I worked with AI, the more uncomfortable I became with the trade-off we seemed to be accepting: give up some privacy in exchange for convenience. I didn’t think that should be the default.
So I started building an encrypted AI security & privacy assistant for myself first. The early versions were honestly clunky. I was much more focused on getting the security model right than making the product feel effortless. That meant a lot of testing, breaking things, going back to the drawing board, and questioning assumptions I thought were already settled.
One thing I learned along the way is that privacy can’t just be a checkbox or a line buried in a policy. If you’re asking people to trust you with sensitive information, the product itself needs to reflect that philosophy.
Our approach evolved quite a bit during the launch. We simplified things, removed features that sounded impressive but didn’t actually solve a meaningful problem, and spent more time thinking about what should never leave the user’s control.
I’m still learning as we go, but honestly, that’s probably my favorite part of building this. We’re not trying to convince people that privacy has to be sacrificed for convenience. We’re trying to prove that you can have both - powerful AI and privacy.
