I'm Sergey, a Python developer and one of the creators of YouTube to Text.
I originally built this tool for myself. I often needed information from long YouTube videos without spending an hour watching each one. Having the full text also made it easier to analyze information and discuss ideas with AI.
Later, we decided to make the tool available to everyone.
How it works:
Send a YouTube link to our Telegram bot.
Get a detailed summary of the video.
Download the full transcript, with or without timestamps.
If subtitles aren't available, the bot transcribes the audio automatically.
We launched in June 2026 and have already reached 650 users without paid advertising and with almost no SEO traffic. We're also seeing people return to use the service again.
