Maker here. I built YourBodyCalc because the existing calculator sites (calculator.net, omnicalculator) felt like 2010 internet: cluttered, ad-heavy, machine-translated, and assuming everyone reads English.
What's different:
🌍 9 languages with REAL translation (en/es/pt-BR/de/fr/it/ja/ko/id) — not Google Translate. Numbers format per locale (de "1.234,5", fr "1 234,5", ja "1,234"). The Japanese BMI calc has a JASSO toggle (Japan's stricter standard, threshold 25) on top of WHO.
🧮 14 calculators built on cited primary sources — WHO, NIH, IOM 2009, ACOG, Mifflin-St Jeor, Kemenkes RI. Each formula is a pure function with vitest coverage. Pregnancy weight gain returns "insufficient data" for underweight twins because IOM 2009 has no guidance there — felt important not to invent numbers in YMYL space.
📱 Mobile-first PWA. Works offline. No account. No upload. Calculations happen entirely in your browser — your weight/height never leaves your device.
🔌 Embed widget: drop any calculator into your blog/site with one iframe tag. Free for any use. Footer attribution is rel="nofollow" so it stays compliant with Google's widget-link policy.
Honest about the limits:
- DA is ~0 (just deployed), this launch is the first real distribution push
- I'm not a medical professional; every YMYL page disclaims that explicitly
- I'm a solo operator using AI assistance, so feedback shapes what ships next
