YCAR helps mechanical workshops create a complete digital history for every vehicle, including repairs, maintenance, photos, documents and upcoming services. Customers can instantly access their vehicle history through NFC or QR. The project is designed to keep evolving, with the potential to scale globally and, in the future, integrate with official systems to improve vehicle maintenance traceability and road safety.
The idea behind YCAR came from a very common problem I kept seeing: both drivers and workshops often lack a clear and reliable picture of a vehicle’s real condition and maintenance history.
This becomes even more important with used cars, especially those with high mileage. In many cases, the new owner has no way of knowing what repairs were actually carried out, when they were done, or which workshop performed them. YCAR aims to create a continuous digital history for each vehicle so that this information does not get lost over time.
It is also designed to help drivers stay on top of future maintenance. The platform includes a module that can later be automated to remind customers about upcoming services, inspections and recommended maintenance.
Another important part of the project is trust. YCAR is intended to work with verified and authorized workshops, so that vehicle records are created by businesses that meet the necessary requirements. The goal is to encourage a more transparent, professional and traceable automotive repair market.
YCAR is still evolving, but the long-term vision is simple: give every vehicle a reliable history that can follow it throughout its life, while helping workshops and drivers make better-informed decisions.
