Hello everyone! As a person who have been learning German for years, I realised that one of the most important thing about starting to understand the conversation was how many words you know in your target language. There are a lot of apps that would help you to memorise new words but you have to dedicate your time to those apps everyday. Therefore, I came up with an idea that would help you to learn new words while you're working on your Mac. Wunderbar is a Menu Bar app that shows you a new word on your target language every 10 minutes. Along with the word, you can see the meaning of the word and also see an example along with its translation. If you want, you can also hear how the word is pronounced. The app uses spaced-repetition algorithm, therefore if you mark a word as known, you don't see that word again for months. If you don't mark the word as known, then you see the same word again after a week. I've been using the app myself everyday and I can already see that I learned a lot of new words. The app shows the most common words in that language. You can learn 9 languages (German, Spanish, French, Dutch, Swedish, Japanese, Polish, Portuguese and Italian) and also change the frequency of showing a new word. I've working on the app and making changes based on the feedback. Let me know if you have questions or feature requests!

Congrats on launching Wunderbar! This is super handy for learning languages while working. Just curious, does it support less common languages like Hungarian or Finnish? And can you adjust the difficulty level of the words? Thanks!

@lucasbenjaminfoster1 Thank you! Unfortunately, it doesn't support Hungarian and Finnish. I was initially thinking about the difficulty level but then when you use the app, you see words like he, she, it, and, or etc. I felt like that would create a bad experience. Therefore, I'm just picking randomly from the most common 4000 words for the each language.
