Stop bundling in features that belong somewhere else. The clearest example is the synthetic monitoring built on Lighthouse probes. Lab data from a synthetic probe is a separate discipline, dedicated tools do it better, and it has no business living inside a caching plugin. Every feature added outside the core mission is surface area that has to be maintained and that we have to explain to clients.
The bigger issue is what has come with the successive acquisitions. There is now a steady stream of promotional panels inside the interface, pushing the monitoring, the in-house CDN and whatever else is being bundled next. On a single site that is mildly annoying. Across a portfolio of client installs it is worse, because every one of those panels is something a client sees, asks us about, and occasionally clicks.
We already pay for the plugin. The settings screen should be a tool, not an advertising surface. Keep the core tight, keep the filters, and sell the adjacent products somewhere other than inside the product we bought.
