We started this because every WordPress chat tool we tried was either a dumb FAQ widget or an expensive SaaS that charged per conversation and kept your data on their servers. WP Replai runs entirely on your WordPress install. Conversations are stored in your database, your agent is configured through your admin, and you connect directly to AI providers via OpenRouter at cost. No middleman markup on model usage. The core idea is Skills: instead of training a model or building a knowledge base, you write plain Markdown instructions and the agent follows them. Want it to collect a project brief and email your team? Write a skill for it. Want it to walk visitors through troubleshooting before escalating? Write a skill for that. It's closer to writing an SOP than configuring a chatbot. We built it for WordPress agencies and SaaS products that want real AI support without handing their customer conversations to a third-party platform.
