Startups fighting over countries on a map is the kind of dumb-brilliant that actually spreads, I can already see founders screenshotting their conquest for LinkedIn. My marketing brain has one question though: does staking a country send anything measurable back, visits or clicks, or is the whole product the flex? Honestly either answer works, I just want to know what I'm buying haha.
@yelyzaveta_kibets For sure! Yeah all of the product listed get their own dedicated page + clicks counter. So it's a nice backlink + traffic source. But the flex is the biggest part of course haha.
Turning advertising into a competition is a clever twist. I’ve upvoted worldmap.lol, and the permanent country ownership gives the concept more personality than a standard banner. The real-time bidding aspect could make the leaderboard especially addictive.
You turned an ad slot into a country with a crown to defend. And you are honest that the flex is most of the appeal. Congrats on getting it live.
@ben_kahan Thanks! We still have some great spots left 😉
