Hey PH! My name is Vighnesh and I am the co-founder of winefix. The reasons why we started winefix was because: 1. You never know if the bottle of wine will match your personal taste, unless you’ve tried it before. Essentially, every new bottle you try is a gamble. 2. The tasting notes on the bottles were generic, complex, inaccurate or all 3. The same issues if talking to a wine sommelier/service staff at restaurants/ wine specialty stores. 3. Strong prevalence of myths about wine, that is not critical to its quality or taste. For example many people would prefer buying the exact same wine and brand if it’s 2015 versus 2017, because it is older. But an older vintage do not mean better wines. So here’s some of the things we did to make it really simple to choose wine: 1. Simple taste ratings - Sweetness, Acidity (Sourness), Strength (Bitterness/Tannins) - the major flavours associated with wine, that the human tongue can taste 2. The ratings evolve based on customer feedback. Hence, the ratings over time are representative of a much larger sample and reflect general consensus. 3. Example of non-essential info we have removed - the vintage (year). 4. If one still can’t decide, there’s a recommendation engine. 🙏 We would LOVE to hear your feedback! Here are some of the things that we would specifically like to know. 1. Pretty straight forward - would you use winefix (FYI we are currently based and delivering only in Singapore. But even if you’re not in Singapore, would you use such a service if you had access)? 2. Do you find the ratings useful, sufficient? What else do you like to know when buying wines? ALL other feedback will also be super helpful. Happy to answer any questions as well. Oh and don't forget to share with friends that need help selecting their wines ✌🏼! Thanks!
