Window Expander

Window Expander

Maximize your windows while leaving some desktop visible.

We all value our desktop apps' precious real estate, but fully maximized windows are depressing. It's nice to have some color. Window Expander expands your windows to almost full screen, but leaves a thin margin at the edges so your wallpaper is still visible.

Hi, I'm Evan. When I'm working on my main project (Modern CSV), I like to keep my windows maximized, but I hate hitting the maximize button. Yeah, it's easy, but I like actually seeing my desktop wallpaper, even if just a little bit. I'm actually a bit more productive that way. I used to manually resize them to my liking, but that takes a lot of time. I decided to automate the process and I liked it so much, I released it as a free utility app. I'm typing this on my Macbook at the gym. I also have several Windows VMs with a bunch of windows open in each. When I get home and plug it into my external monitors, the window sizes will be all messed up. Rather than wasting 5 minutes resizing everything, I just have to click the tray icon and have it resize them just like that.
