Not a fan of the name. OCD isn't a joke.

@maxwellhallel Love the app, but not a fan of the name either. I'll write the dev about it. Would be a shame if potential buyers wouldn't buy the app just because of the name.

@maxwellhallel We don't need to be so sensitive. Obviously the dev/marketing team is not trying to offend people. Culturally people do use OCD to describe their personality when they are not actually diagnosed OCD. I have no connection to this product FYI. I'm simply defending the use of marketing tactics that understand humans can see the nuance of a clever name. They are not making fun of anybody.
@mmp7700@maxwellhallel agree, this is the most stepping-on-glass age in the history of the earth, to a detriment. Everyone who knows how to speak understands language is not just words, but context.
If I say "Don't be so anal", are you to be offended because you just started having anal sex but not quite ready to share with the world?
If I call someone stupid or dumb, am I to stop because of the people of the world who are considered legally retarded by merit of having a measured IQ below 80?
If you scream "CHUG CHUG CHUG" at a party, are you being insensitive to all the recovering alcoholics ( a disease) of the world? Or maybe a food eating contest where apple pie is running down your chest.. are you a dick for such a gluttonous demonstration in light of half the world being hungry and/or people with obesity (also a disease).
If someone made a "yo mama" joke, but didn't take into account the people of the world who prematurely lost their mother in an accident or crime, is that person a jerk for not accounting for that?
Insensitivity has everything to do with context, and the last person that gets to decide is someone who's not even in the group in question. It's like my non-asian friends making asian jokes. Do I get offended? Of course not. If it was a guy at a bar who was being aggressive, you bet I'm offended. But I definitely don't need someone who's not asian on the internet telling me with absolute certainty that something is offensive or not on my behalf. I guess some people would agree that "Racism isn't a joke", but it actually can be, in fact in some strange way, it helps the problem, not exacerbate it.
Being so "absolute" about everything is a precursor to angry mobs decrying everything that doesn't agree with them, which is really, really dangerous ground. We're not monkeys. We have the ability to read between the lines.
As for the product, does this solve the mystery of the disappearing windows after you remove/add an external monitor? I HATE that.
@mmp7700@maxwellhallel Are you serious? Be thankful you dont suffer from a mental illness or disorder and try to muster up some empathy and humanity.

Mental illnesses are not adjectives. I think that the misuse of the term OCD in this context is just wrong and disgusting.

@grooveplex OCD has taken on new meaning and is in common use, in most countries I've been to. It no longer just refers to people who fit the DSM definition.
Report
@mobotan No, it's just been allowed to be misused by people who don't care to listen to people who are saying it's hurtful
@mobotan has it? This is a generalization. OCD hasn't taken on a new meaning. People use it, like they use the r-word and a lot of other pretty mean words. By all means keep doing so, but know that its disrespectful and hurtful.
