Hey Product Hunt! I developed WHORL because slicing audio on a standard DAW timeline always took too long when I just wanted to quickly create a rhythmic idea.
You add any sample, it automatically separates the audio into 3 categories based on its character and maps them to a 16-step sequencer. From there, you can drag the slice boundaries directly on the waveform, assign FX (drive, delay, tape stop) to each step, and trigger saved variations via MIDI.
It works as VST3, AU and Standalone on macOS (Apple Silicon / Intel) and Windows.
