Instead of relying only on a model name shown in the UI, you can compare test results and spot possible quality changes, routing differences, or silent downgrades.

What became possible in your product with Astra that was not practical before?

Astra made it practical to turn “this model feels different” into a repeatable measurement workflow. WhereIsMyToken can run structured tests, compare knowledge boundaries, instruction-following and output behavior across runs, and use those signals to detect possible model or routing changes. Before, doing this consistently across many tests was too manual and time-consuming.

I built WhereIsMyToken because I kept running into the same problem: the model name could stay the same, while the actual experience sometimes felt very different. For users, token limits, quotas, routing, and model capability are increasingly difficult to understand. So WhereIsMyToken combines usage tracking with repeatable capability tests, making changes measurable instead of relying on “it feels worse today.” But I don’t think this is only valuable to users. I think it can also be valuable to OpenAI. If OpenAI wants to build long-term trust and maintain a strong reputation as competition gets tougher, AI capability needs to become more transparent and independently verifiable. An independent measurement system should not only detect regressions. It should also be able to show when nothing has changed, when a model has improved, and when users are actually receiving the capability they are paying for. That creates something more valuable than another benchmark score: trust built from repeatable evidence. WhereIsMyToken is my attempt to build that missing layer between AI providers and users — a way to track usage, test capability, and make model changes visible over time. My goal is simple: Make AI capability measurable — for users, and for the companies building it.
