WheelPickV2 is a compact Windows color picker built for AI and design workflows. Pick an exact screen pixel with a magnified eyedropper, fine-tune hue, saturation, and brightness on the color wheel, then copy HEX, RGB, or HSL. It also includes brightness variations, color history, hotkeys, and tray access. Rebuilt with Rust and Tauri as a portable download of about 3 MB, with no accounts, ads, telemetry, or network communication.

I’m an indie maker from Japan, working under the name TINMOON.
WheelPickV2 started with a small irritation. While working with ChatGPT and Claude, I kept typing things like “a little more blue” or “just slightly brighter.”
Color is exact. Language often isn’t.
So I built a tool that lets me pick the exact pixel, fine-tune the color, and paste the value instead.
WheelPickV2 combines:
🎯 A magnified eyedropper for pixel-accurate picking
🎨 A color wheel for hue, saturation, and brightness adjustment
📋 HEX, RGB, and HSL values ready to copy
🌗 Nearby and full-range brightness variations
🕘 Color history and configurable quick copy
⌨️ Hotkeys, system tray access, and startup launch
The original version was written in Python, and its portable package was about 30 MB. Classic PyInstaller.
I wanted a color picker to pick colors—not occupy dozens of megabytes—so I rebuilt it from scratch with Rust and Tauri.
The current portable ZIP is about 3 MB.
WheelPickV2 works locally and includes no accounts, advertising, telemetry, or network communication. Because a screen-picking tool deserves extra scrutiny, I also uploaded the current executable to VirusTotal:

And here is my very honest maker roadmap:
Sales from WheelPickV2 are going toward a used Apple Silicon Mac mini. Once I can buy one, developing the Mac version becomes possible. Every purchase moves that version a little closer to reality. 🦀
