iOS app for filtering the BoardGameGeek catalog. BGG is like wikipedia for board games. Lets you pick the right game from your collection, or the right game to add to your collection.

Hi, Product Hunt! I made this!
When I'm going to my friend's house for game night, I open up the app, tap the number of players I expect, and grab any games in my collection that pop up and feel like fun. Maybe text a friend if I see they've got something that I want to play.
The other use case is looking up new games. When someone asks "what's a good co-op game to play after dinner with my spouse?" you can quickly bring up an excellent list.
And yes, I've used it for shopping. Like, sending my parents a list of games recommended for 4yos or 6yos. But I don't intend to set up ecommerce & affiliate links - this app is all coasting off of BoardGameGeek's data via licensed API, so I'm not interested in trying to siphon off their $$.
I've wanted this app for like 15 years, ever since I found out that BGG collected user polls on each game about which player counts are 'recommended' or 'best'. There are two websites (at least?) that do this too: kallax.io and geekgroup.app, but they both require your friends to actively participate, and accounts, and desktop browsers, and they don't let you search for stuff outside collections.
I'm _terrified_ about asking for a subscription. The free version of the app has basically 100% of the functionality that 99% of people would ever use, but board game geeks burn money on games and not software. Nobody making board-game-related iOS apps is asking for $6/year. I just hope that the availability of the subscription doesn't scare off free users.
