I am the founder of Wild Creek Web Studio, an SEO and digital marketing agency.

After nearly two decades of working in SEO, I have seen how internal linking becomes increasingly difficult as websites grow.

I had been using a commercial WordPress internal linking plugin for years. It worked well initially, but over time, the interface became more complicated, and the focus shifted towards AI features and credits that I did not need.

I wanted something simpler.

A tool that could help me find relevant internal linking opportunities, identify orphaned content, review anchor text, and manage broken links without taking control away from the editor.

So I built WC Internal Links.

It is a free WordPress plugin that focuses on making internal linking easier to manage.

One decision I made early was to avoid automatic link insertion. The plugin suggests opportunities, but the user decides what gets added.

I believe internal linking should focus on relevance and context rather than simply increasing the number of links on a page.

The plugin is now available in the official WordPress plugin directory.
