Wave lets you invoke an AI model anywhere on macOS using just your voice. Hold a hotkey, speak, and release—your speech is transcribed, processed, and the result appears exactly where you need it. If you're typing, it replaces or inserts text. If you're reading, it shows a floating answer. Works across all apps with selected text as context.

As a music producer I capture song ideas and lyric fragments by voice all the time — the hold-hotkey-speak-release flow with local Whisper sounds ideal for dropping lyrics straight into whatever app I'm in. Does the AI mode support custom rewrite prompts, like "clean this up but keep the slang"?
I've tried many voice-to-text tools, but they usually break workflow. Wave feels like a native part of the OS. It’s particularly killer for coding and writing—being able to dictate complex logic or refine sentences without touching the keyboard is a massive productivity boost.
I couldn’t find the system requirements. Will it run smoothly on an M1 processor?
very interesting! i have carpal tunnel syndrom and speech to text is my best friend.
Looks like your website has references to Whisper since it seems you copied some text? Also nice AI work for coding and tks for making it free :)

Thanks, Gabriella!
The selected text as context feature is clever, hope this gets the attention it deserves!
