Watchbear lets you watch any video together, in perfect sync. Start a room, share the code, and everyone's playback stays on the exact same frame play, pause and seek stay in step for the whole room. No account, no setup: friends drop in within seconds. Chat live, drop emoji reactions, and reply to messages in a side panel right next to the video, so the conversation never blocks your view. I'm Halit, I built Watchbear.
This came out of a real annoyance. Watching something with friends who live far away always meant the "3, 2, 1, play!" countdown, and we'd still land a few seconds apart. Every tool I tried wanted me to upload the video, use their player, or make another account.
Watchbear doesn't ask for any of that. You open a room, share a code, and everyone stays on the same frame, including when someone pauses or jumps around. Chat and emoji reactions live in a side panel next to the video, so nobody has to cover the screen to say something. No account, and it works on whatever you're already watching.
One thing I'm a little proud of: it's open source and self-hostable. Run it on your own server and the whole thing is yours.
