Waste Not

Hi Product Hunt! I’m Michelle Mattar, the creator of Waste Not. Waste Not is intentionally free and commercially-focused (rather than consumer-oriented) so we can make sustainable changes at the scale of business.  Waste not has: 1. Sustainable, searchable listings by type of packaging from direct consumer, retail, and restaurant; fashion and soft goods, interiors, and more.  2. A strict set of criteria to evaluate and approve each listing by 3. Filters for sustainability criteria, quantities and origin 4. Ability for users to add listings (which are vetted by volunteers) and audit information directly on the site to make sure it's up-to-date and correct (kind of like Wikipedia) 5. The site is designed to use less energy: Dithered images and system fonts bring the download per page down and limited data fetching means less external requests on servers, less cold starts, more data cached to save trees and your bandwidth :) As we face growing environmental concerns, we can no longer rely on just consumers to “do the right thing”. Waste Not is one step towards making it easier for businesses to reduce their waste at scale. Thank you for supporting us!
