### What inspired us to build Waste Hunter? We were inspired by a simple observation: we often see garbage and waste around us, but most of the time, we don't know what to do about it. Reporting waste can feel complicated, and many people simply walk past it. We wanted to make that first step easier. ### What problem were we trying to solve? The problem wasn't just waste itself—it was the gap between **seeing a problem and taking action**. We wanted to create a simple way for people to identify waste, report it, and become more involved in keeping their surroundings clean. ### How did our approach evolve? We started with the idea of using AI to make environmental reporting easier. As we built the MVP, we explored how AI, image recognition, reporting, and gamification could work together to make the experience more engaging. Our initial idea changed and became more focused as we tested features and worked through technical limitations. Instead of trying to build everything at once, we focused on creating a simple MVP that demonstrates the core idea: **spot waste, report it, and encourage people to take action.** Waste Hunter is still an early-stage project, but building it taught us a lot about turning an idea into a working product, making trade-offs, and designing around real-world problems.
