Hey everyone 👋 I built Wallop because every budgeting app I tried made me feel bad about money without actually changing my behaviour. I'd track every coffee for two weeks, feel guilty, then quietly stop opening the app. What I noticed is that spreadsheets and category breakdowns don't stop you from spending, they just report on it after the fact. What actually works is having something you don't want to let down. So instead of another tracker, I built Wallop around Stashes: real goals (a holiday, an emergency fund, a house deposit) that your leftover cash automatically routes into every payday, no manual tracking required. Along the way I added a small pig mascot who reacts to your Stashes - he's genuinely happy when you're saving and visibly bummed if you dip into one. It sounds silly, but it turned out to be the thing that actually made saving stick for our beta testers. Turns out not wanting to disappoint a cartoon pig is more motivating than a spending report. We also built Couples Mode because money stuff shouldn't be a solo grind - you and a partner can share a budget and Stashes together.
