One ad. One owner. One falling price. Wait and it gets cheaper. The problem? Everybody else is waiting too. Buy cheap and you're cheap to replace. Pay more and the next buyer has a much taller price to wait down. Meanwhile, everyone waiting to steal the page is staring at your ad. Someone blinks. They buy. You're gone. Then it starts again.
Hey Product Hunt š
I kept noticing the same thing online:
everybody wants attention.
Founders want it.
Brands want it.
Creators want it.
People launching something at 2AM definitely want it.
The usual solution is pretty boring:
have a bigger advertising budget.
I wanted to see if attention could work differently.
So I turned one entire front page into a game.
There is only one ad.
Its current owner stays there until somebody replaces them.
The price to do that keeps falling.
Can't afford it yet? Wait.
ā¬1,000 becomes ā¬500.
ā¬500 becomes ā¬250.
Eventually the price may enter your range.
But there is one fairly important problem:
everyone else is waiting too.
Nobody gets a private price. Nobody reserves the spot. The first completed payment wins.
And this is my favorite part:
while people are waiting for your price to fall...
they're looking at your ad.
The amount you pay matters too. Paying more means the next takeover starts higher, so the people trying to replace you have further to wait.
It doesn't guarantee you'll stay longer. Someone sufficiently impatient can still kick you out immediately.
But that's the game.
Pay less and become affordable sooner.
Pay more and make them wait.
I wanted a small founder, weird internet project, indie hacker or random person with something worth showing to have a shot at owning the same space as somebody with a massive budget.
Not for free.
Not guaranteed.
Just at the price they're willing to risk waiting for.
I genuinely have no idea what people will do with it.
Which is probably my favorite part of launching it.
Would love to know:
Would you buy early to protect the spot, or keep waiting for a stupidly cheap price and risk losing it?
