Vizhi (Tamil for "eye") watches your Codex CLI sessions so you don't have to. Six live sessions on a Logitech MX Creative Keypad, one-press approvals, local Whisper voice prompts. No keypad? A local browser dashboard is available.

The real alternative was a Stream Deck, but I went with the MX Creative Keypad for two reasons. The LCD keys can render live state - Vizhi's whole point is a six-session grid showing project name, context %, and an amber alert when a session wants approval, and that needs keys that are tiny displays, not printed buttons.

Vizhi actually grew out of an earlier tool I built for Claude Code (claude-console). For OpenAI Build Week I rebuilt the idea around Codex CLI, and it carried the whole project two ways. Codex with GPT-5.6 wrote nearly all the code — TypeScript, C#, Swift, and a bit of AppleScript. Codex's lifecycle hooks are what make Vizhi's live session grid possible at all.
