This is pretty amazing actually, clever idea -- sometimes a print looks much better before you see it in large amounts all over something, probably would increase "conversions" in store and could be a good way to prevent buyer's remorse too - hah. :)
Can you just project a new pattern or image onto any object? Would be interesting to project onto a person, would at least make for some interesting pictures! Virtual body painting or full body tattoos.
